Musiciens gnaouas

Le ciel, la mer et les musiciens sur les remparts des Oudaias- Rabat, Maroc

Les Gnaouas sont les descendants d'anciens esclaves noirs au Maroc, venus du Ghana, Mali, Nigéria, Sénégal et Soudan
Il y a le hajouj (ou guembri) qui est un instrument à cordes (3) fabriqué à partir du bois de figuier ou de saule, le tambour (ganga) qui sert essentiellement à réunir le public et les crotales, sortes de castagnettes.
Ce sont des cycles de rythmes précis et symbolisant la mer, le ciel, la forêt, etc… Les danseurs qui viennent s'associent à un symbole particulier et attendent leur morceau

There is the hajouj (or guembri), which is a string instrument (3) made from wood or willow fig, the drum (ganga), which mainly serves to bring together the public and rattlesnakes, a kind of castanets.
These are cycles and rhythms precise symbolizing the sea, sky, forest, etc… The dancers who come to join a particular symbol and waiting for their piece
