A bord d'un cargo -2

Posted by
Mhelene (Villiers-sur-Marne, France) on 6 August 2019 in Business & Industry and Portfolio.

-------
We are totally autonomous and most of the time on the command bridge. It’s not a big freighter, so there’s no one to look after the passengers. And as it is a container ship the whole place is for the bush so there is only a narrow tower of 7 floors .
If a door is closed, we do not open it and if we want to explore a place we ask the "captain" "please captain may we go..." and he always answers "of course" without explaining anything more to us to see how to do , unless there is a special instruction as outside the wearing of the helmet and a vest
Ours are in our cabin.

Ce doit être quelque chose de voyager sur un cargo, je me souviens que tu l'avais déjà fait non? c'est la vraie vie réelle à bord loin des bateaux de croisière de luxe

The captain has a beautiful view but it does not sound like passengers are given much help.

6 Aug 2019 1:16pm

@Don: Thank you Don ! There are no passengers on board, we are the only ones and occupy the company cabin. We spend most of the time on the command bridge .

What a great experience and adventure! You also have a magnificent view from up above. A fabulous image! Do you eat your meals with the ship crew?

6 Aug 2019 8:51pm

@Elaine Hancock: Thank you Elaine ! We eat meals in the officers' mess at 7.20am, 11am and 5pm and we have to be on time because they swallow everything in a hurry and go back to work . There is a part of everything for everyone, nothing more .

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

Oh, this really is an adventure! It would be fun at least for a while. An excellent image of your ship.

Harry from Apex, NC, United States

wow - a very tall ship. I suppose it allows them to see over tall stacks of cargo containers as well as far into the horizon. I have never understood what keeps the top lavel of containers from tumbling off in rough seas.

6 Aug 2019 11:33pm

@Harry: Thank you Harry ! The containers are held to each other by horizontal bars entering the container below and crossbars . Everything is always very checked and secure. You will see it in my upcoming photos.
